PhD in Language Sciences
In my research, I investigate identities and individual characteristics of teachers of English, French, and German as a foreign language (e.g., language aptitude, language proficiency, language biographies, cognitive styles, instructional preferences), how they interact with one another, how they change over time, and why they matter for effective, equitable and sustainable foreign language teaching and learning. Through rigorous mixed-methods research that bridges ISLA, teacher professionalisation, and language testing and assessment, I produce evidence that strengthens foreign language teacher education and classroom practice. Ethics, equity, diversity, inclusion and critical literacies underpin all my research and teaching.
